I need to do a 4 tiered cake with a cascade of gumpaste roses. What is the best way to attach them?

when I make my roses I make them on wires that I cover with coffee stirrers then insert into the cake. If they are not on wires then you can use royal icing to attach them. It dries fairly quickly. I would put on as many before you get to the venue and then add the extras at the time of stacking. If you prestack then make sure to make extra roses in case some fall off on the drive over. HTH. You do have to be careful to make your roses as light as possible. Using long straws to insert the wires into gives you leverage in the cake. It's always best to experiment. Make a layer cake and insert one of your roses to make sure it doesn't move or migrate south.
