I have a friend from Massachusettes. There is a Bakery (Giovanni's) that made her wedding cake using Italian Cream frosting. I am doing a 5 year anniversary cake for her and wanted to try to repeat this frosting but everything I have made she says it's not quite like it. I have gotten the closest using the cooked flour and milk and then adding the butter recipe- but even then she felt was not quite right. Does anyone have any suggestions for what is more of a typical Italian Cream recipe in Mass?
My mom is from Mass and the recipe that comes close is her 'whoopie' frosting recipe.
