I am in the middle of a sand castle cake. I'm trying to decide on the towers with just the crenellations or with the romantic roof peak cones. I was all set on the pointy cones, then DH came in the kitchen and said, "What's that supposed to be? I've never seen a castle with those." (He's German, so the medievel/gothic structures are truer to him).

Anyway, what do you think? I haven't started sanding the towers yet.

And while I have your attention, would you add crenellations to the top 6" tier, or no?

I actually like the pointy cones. They add more interest to the design with the verifying heights of the towers as compared to the roof top.

I think the pointy cones add a little something extra so I would go with those. You should definitely do something on the top of your small tier too.
