I bought some hi ratio shortening for the first time that I'd like to try. Can be exchanged in any recipe that calls for regular shortening OR are there any recipes calling for hi ratio shortening you would recommend? tia.

Are you going to use it in the cake or the frosting?

I assumed frosting but I'm really open to suggestions.

For frosting you want to try Sugarshack's recipe. I have not tried that one, but others on here have. You may also want to try Indydeb's recipe, but it doesn't need hi-ratio shortening.

Almost any frosting recipe that calls for shortening you can use the hi-ratio. I believe the only difference is supposed to be that you get more volume and a creamier shortening. However Mamawrobin uses Crisco and gets the same results. Have you tried searching this board for other posts on frosting? That may help you too.
