What is the best way to make black fondant? I use Michelle Foster's fondant recipe. How do I get it black without using a gallon of black food colouring? Thanks!

I just made some last week. I added brown americolor during the liquid stage and about 2 or 3 drops of black, then while kneading I added about a few drops of black again. I let it rest ovr night it was real black and didn't have any nasty aftertaste.
Several people use black powder color.
