Hi I'm making a seven tier wedding cake in late July and wanted to get as much help possible about stacking a seven tier cake!!
Thank you in advance!!!
I use the wooden dowels and I've had no problems. Some like the SPS system. I've also used the hollow dowels (MacCallum wedding cake in my pix) for the first time but the jury is still out on that one.
This may sound silly, but stacking a 7 tier cake is NO different than stacking a 3 tier cake... same methods and techniques, same equipment. If you have a system that works for you, then stick with it.
Use the SPS system - read all about it hear:

I've never stacked a 7, but for a 6 SPS worked great so same concept. I assembled on site because it was for a close friend and had access to church reception hall.
What Pink said .... it's the same as stacking a 2-tier cake except you do it 5 more times.
