CAn anyone tell me what you need to do to support a round cake on its side? I'd like to make a bass drum (Large front one) all cake. Can it be done? or are all the drum set cakes using dummies for the bass?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas!

You don't need to ACTUALLY have the cake tipped onto its side, you can just make it appear that way!

I wouldn't personally stand a cake on it's side. I would stack several layers and carve the shape you need out of them!

I made my bass drum from a dummy but I didn't need that much cake. If you need the servings, I would do as KHalstead suggested and stack and carve.
