Castle Cake - Bundt Pan Or Pieced Together

I'm doing a freebie (well, at cost) for a friend. She will reimburse if I need to buy a special pan. She initially saw the NordicWare castle bundt pan and said she wanted me to do a castle cake. I started looking around and think I could piece one together, but it would take a LOT of time and work.
BUT, my name is attached to this and I could benefit from the experience.

If I pieced it together, I'm thinking 8" sq. middle, and either RKT or soup can cake turrets with wafer cookie crenellations. But then this sucker has to travel 4 hours in a car.

I made one and used ice cream cones for the towers. I covered them in melted chocolate. That worked pretty well.
