I have been asked to make this cake and I'm wondering how many roses I should make? I'm using the JEM 80 mm cutter and making full roses as well as rosebuds. I will be substituting some of the roses for calla lillies which will be slightly larger than the roses. I'm wondering if anyone has a guideline that they use? I'll be travelling 2 1/2 hours to the wedding so I need to make sure I have enough but not too many as they are time consuming and this is a gift! The cake will be 6/9/12/14 iced in buttercream. Thanks for any suggestions!

I can't copy the picture but here's the link:

I'd make 60-85, always better to have a few too many than not quite enough, IMHO!

Good luck, and I strongly suggest that you use SPS for stacking/transporting, at least then you won't have to worry about anything but having enough roses! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks for your reply! I have 33 full roses and 19 rosebuds so far - guess I have to keep going!

And yes, I do have the SPS system! Wouldn't try stacking a 4 tier cake without it!!
