I need a non crusting buttercream recipe that will allow me to use fondact pieces for decoration. I really like the bettercream but cant use it since I am decorating with fondant. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I use the Buttercream Dream recipe here on CC. Uses butter & shortening. I use fondant accents all the time on it. HTH

I use a crusting bc as well and use fondant decorations all the time. you just need to moisten the back of the fondant accent with and stick it to the bc

Can I use Sams or Costco's frosting with the fondant? Which tastes better?

I have recently fallen in love with IndyDebi's crusting BC. MMF decorations do really well on it, if you moisten the back slightly with water, as mentioned above.
