Can someone out there recommend a GOOD pasta machine, I can't afford the KitchenAid one right now, so I bought one in Bed, Bath and Beyond and it sucked! It shredded both the gumpaste and fondant that I used. Thanks everyone!!
you must first roll your paste fairly thin, then starting on the widest setting, keep running the paste through the pasta machine lowering the setting until you have the thickness you need.
Make sure to clean your pasta maker well including the ridges on the underside, dry old paste will cause the paste to shred too. Dust your paste with cornstarch if it is sticky.
BTW: i use an atlas pasta maker
