I was given a 55-lb bag of white cake mix the instructions were for each 5-lbs of mix add 44-oz of water only. I did a test cake using only 1-lb of mix. I have never used this type of mix but it was free but the end results was a dry cake compared to my normal cakes. icon_sad.gif .Anyone have any suggestion on how to doctor this to improve it I hate for it to go to waste. I welcome all suggestions.

I am new to this but I have found using milk instead of water makes it moister.

I use the 50lb bags of Pillsbury and my instructions call for 8lbs of oil in addition to the water. HTH

Where do you order 50 or 55 lb bags of mix? I've never seen anything like that at sams. icon_confused.gif

I buy 20kg bags of mix and I use 4.5 cups of the mix, 2 eggs and 1.5 cups of water for a batch of cake.

Hope this helps!

Wholesale food suppliers who sell to restaurants, hotels, and bakeries. Sam's can probably get them if you go to customer service and ask if it's available. If so, they can special order.
