I am wanting to make a square cake for a base for a Father's day cake, and my edges always come out overbaked. I just got some bake strips this week from Amazon.com, but they do not fit all the way around the square pan!!! EEEEKKK!! I really don't want to run out and buy different ones, so I was wondering if the flower nail in the middle would work?

you can clip/pin them together to make them long enough to go all the way around the pan. It doesn't matter if they overlap.

I have not tried the nail but you could use an old towel cut up in strips and wet them. Worked for me!

I just did a 10 inch square with the flower nail in the middle...my first time doing this...and I was amazed! The cake was perfect! No dry edges or raw middle...perfect cake.
