Can someone please tell me how to get the silver look to a stethescope? Do I have to use fondant or can I do it in buttercreme? How do I get that shiny silvery look? Thanks so much to all who reply icon_smile.gif

I recently made a bunch of tools for a Handy Manny cake and I used fondant and then brushed it with silver luster dust. Not sure if you can use that technique on buttercream but I bet you can. HTH!

Your best bet is fondant or gumpaste painted with silver luster dust mixed with Vodka or some other high alcohol content extract.
I use Silver Air Brush paint and apply with a brush.

Silver Luster dust is the way to go. Just mix it with a little vodka or vanilla and "paint" it on. I used it for the first time a few weeks ago and was very impressed with how well it covered. I used it on fondant also, but I bet it would work fine on buttercream. Good Luck!
