Does anyone have a tutorial of how they made a book cake covered in buttercream? Fondant I can figure out, buttercream is giving me a headache. How do I get the cover to go out past the pages? Can I do this? TIA

You could just make that "book cover" look with a string of fondant. If you can't use fondant at all, you could try just using a really big round tip (#10 or higher) or use basket weave tip, zig zaggy part down so all you see is the smooth side.

We make open book cakes at the grocery store I decorate at and we just do a shell border for the bottom.
