Okay I need some ideas.....it is boating season and my favorite boat drink is Pineapple Orange Banana Juice and Coconut Rum....So I am thinking about making it into a cake....well kind of....here is what I want to do

Make a simple white cake and do a Pineapple Orange Banana Coconut Rum buttercream.

how would you suggest making the buttercream?? Just mix up the drink and use it instead of milk? Thanks!!

Using a drink for the liquid would probably not give a strong flavor, as there isn't really much liquid in BC. There are flavorings for all of those, you could use them as part or all of the liquid...

I'm not very adventurous, so I'd do the opposite.

Hummingbird cake already has bananas, pineapple and sometimes (mandarin) oranges in it, then a rum coconut BC for the top.
Or they could be added to the cake.

Others will come later, and may have a recipe for the fruity icing for you.
Good luck!

maybe you could add some Lorann Oils to your BC to acheive that flavor.

I'd use the rum in the wash on the cake, then use extracts for all the other flavors in the buttercreme.

I have had fantastic results using whatever juice or drink mix as a replacement liquid in my batter.
