Do you tell people the gumpaste flowers and figures are edible? I say technically they are edible but you may break a tooth! Is food safe a better term? Just curious if anyone has had a problem telling people it is edible.

If the gum paste items don't contain wires, toothpicks, artificial supports or stamens, and are colored with edible (not just non-toxic) colors, then they are fully edible.

If any of the conditions above are not met, then they are just food safe and non-toxic.

Gumpaste is basically the same stuff that Necco Wafers and those candy hearts with words on them are made from, but without the flavoring. You can eat it.
