I am making a wedding cake for end of June. The Bride has purchased fake flowers to go inbetween the cake layers (for the Wilton Tall Tier Cake Stand). She wants me to just use one of the fake flowers (delphinium) for the topper.

Do you find that most brides want flowers or their Initials for the cake toppers now, instead of the traditional bride & groom?

I'd say half flowers and half monograms.

I do about 100 weddings a year and I'll have 2 or 3 that use figurines.

And it's been this way for at least 5 years.

With a cake that has the flowers between the tiers, absolutely use flowers on the top.
