Is there a "best" or "ultimate" cake recipe for a cake being covered in MMF? If so, PLEASE share. Otherwise, is it ok to cover almost any cake in MMF? I'm looking to make a naughty booty cake for my dad's 60th but want to make the cake myself. Usually I just use a cake mix but I want this to be special from me ...(his daughter)...to him icon_biggrin.gif Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm not a total expert but I would say anything but angel food cake (sponge)

Yes, pretty much anything other than anything really light and fragile! A good madeira sponge works wonders, I use betty crocks devils food cake mix all the time and cover it with fondant (sooo yummy icon_biggrin.gif) and it holds up great!!

this was actually really helpful to me to see that normal sponge cakes will stand up under fondant. Thank goodness I'm not the only newbie.
