i want to make fondant decorations for my cupcakes and wanted to make them ahead of time but i am wondering
1--- how early i can make them and
2--- how to store them so they don't dry up or get all slimy!!!
any ideas...please let me know...it's for my son's first birthday and i don't want to mess them up!
thanks, icon_smile.gif

you can just leave them out they take quite awhile to dry, especially if you're doing figurines, i leave mine out and just cover with paper towel

I learned just recently not to store fondant decorations that have dried firm in a tupperware type container, it makes the fondant get moist again & it doesn't hold it's shape. Next time I'd store them without a lid or in a box.

I've had that happen, mbark. I leave fondant decorations out now. I just cover to protect them but not air tight. I just make them about a week ahead of time and then they are ready when I decorate.
