I am making a dolphin cake for my nieces birthday tomorrow. I already made the dolphin out of RKT, covered in modeling chocolate and MMF. I won't be placing the dolphin on the cake until I get there. I'm worried that it may be to heavy to stay up for the couple of hours it will be on the cake. It will be similar to this cake. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1671616.html

Should I make a support for the head or just push it down a touch further in the cake?

Thanks

How large is your dolphin? If the room isn`t too hot you should be OK. You could always go to your local Lowe`s or Home Depot and get a piece of plexi-glas rod and cut it so that it supports the head, then pipe some splashes of water coming off at the bottom and part way up. The plexi glass is clear so people won`t see it right off like they would a dowel. You could also run that right up inside the dolphin for some added stability if the insertion won`t damage your wonderful dolphin.
