I've been toying with this idea for a cake and wanted to know if anyone else has done something similar icon_smile.gif

so there's an aeroplane cake (about loaf pan size) that is supported on a single 16mm round dowl rod that's around 300mm tall - and of course I'll probably use a 6mm thick cutout of MDF to rest the cake on. (everything will be screwed together before hand)

below the plane is a cake hill (to hide some of the dowl rod) the rest of the exposed dowl rod will be covered in sky blue fondant...

and next to the hill is a 3D car driving along a road...

I think this will be really fun to make but I'm not sure if I'm headed for a disaster icon_redface.gif

You will never know, if you dont at least attempt it. icon_biggrin.gif I say go for it. I am all about the experimenting and encourage it in others!
