I was wondering if someone could tell me if I am doing something wrong? I was using a different brand of fondant but I thought I would try satin ice and I am not happy with it at all, I got little crack marks all over the cake and it looks horrible. Is there a trick to using this stuff? Any help would really be appreciated.

I stopped using Satin Ice for that reason, started using FondX. When I first started using Satin Ice it was great but then something changed. There have been many posts about it cracking and getting elephant skin. Fondarific is good also, but pricey.

I recently had the same trouble with it (first time in 5 yrs). I tried adding shortening to the fondant to moisten it up. You might have to add alot of shorting or you may not, play with it. The stuff seems to be drier than usual.
