I'm making a picture frame cake and I need to make the glass of the picture frame but my sugar keeps getting cloudy. icon_cry.gif Any suggestions? Anything at all will do. Thanks!

Have you tried using Isomalt instead of sugar? I always have better luck with that. Also, you can try using distilled water so there aren't any impurities added to the sugar.

Have you considered using gelatin? Search this site for Gelatin Flowers, gelatin bows and gelatin butterflies. The technique is very easy and the finished product is very thin.

If you decide to give the gelatin a try, here's the link to the main thread:

I'm sure you'll find a ton of additional info if you do a search.

Also, depending on what size frame you're doing, you can buy gelatin in sheets that may work for you as-is.
