Help!! Need To Make Picture Frame Glass Out Of Sugar
Sugar Work By phylekprincess Updated 31 May 2010 , 7:45pm by phylekprincess
I'm making a picture frame cake and I need to make the glass of the picture frame but my sugar keeps getting cloudy. Any suggestions? Anything at all will do. Thanks!
Have you tried using Isomalt instead of sugar? I always have better luck with that. Also, you can try using distilled water so there aren't any impurities added to the sugar.

Have you considered using gelatin? Search this site for Gelatin Flowers, gelatin bows and gelatin butterflies. The technique is very easy and the finished product is very thin.
When you say this website do you mean Cake Central? And thank you I will try Isomalt and the different water.
If you decide to give the gelatin a try, here's the link to the main thread:

I'm sure you'll find a ton of additional info if you do a search.
Also, depending on what size frame you're doing, you can buy gelatin in sheets that may work for you as-is.
Thank You SO much! I think this will work perfect. Thanks for everyone one that posted help.
