I've made fondant for the 1st time with a recipe from Allrecipes. Called for gelatin, water, p.sugar, veg. oil, crisco, corn syrup. Can I flavor this with my regular imitation almond or vanilla extract? I think I remember someone telling me you couldn't use water based stuff with fondant. Obviously I'm new at this
It is Candy melts/chocolate that you don't want to use water base stuff with.
I would have added the flavoring while making it but youc an always mix some in now. You may need to add a little more powder sugar. You can also use the candy oils because their flavors are concentrated and it doesn't take as much of them to get a good flavor.
