I tried the Black Magic Choc cake recipe for cupcakes and everyone really liked the taste, but I feel I wanted them a bit denser and not as 'greasy/tacky' looking on top.
I will mix the eggs better and gradually add the oil and buttermilk slower next time to see if that helps, but I was also wondering if substituting sour cream or butter for the oil/buttermilk would work and if so how to do that substitution. If anyone knows, please let me know.
Finally, this recipe didn't make domes on the cupcake....it was a flatter top cupcake which ended up sticking slightly to the pan. Thoughts on how to get a dome?
