My new favorite yellow cake recipe is from a Duncan Hines box mix:

1 Yellow DH cake mix
1 box vanilla pudding (instant)
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup water
1/3 - 1/2 cup oil

Yesterday I made a birthday cake for my sister using a 1-2-3-4 recipe from bakerella's website. It is a buttery and moist yellow cake recipe that is from scratch and very easy to follow. I highly recommend it. My cousin who had the cake yesterday wants me to use it on her graduation cake in 2 weeks, so it was a big hit.
