Hi all!

I was hoping someone reading this has used the flower pics for something other than real flowers.

I was thinking about inserting fondant in the flower pics and then inserting wire with fondant balls attached to them. I am having a problem with my wires spinning around causing holes in my icing. Hoping this will stop that.

I also have a fondant #4 I want to do the same thing with.

Has anyone done this before. Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks !

=)

Sounds like it would work just fine....I have used straws to hold the wire steady but sounds like a great idea....

I've done it and it works great!!! I filled the pick up to the top and then inserted the wires. They did not budge!

I used one for the balls on the purple Sweet 16 cake in my photos.

HTH!

I've done this on a few cakes, with fondant and royal icing.

I did it just this weekend using candy melts. Fill the pick with candy melts, stick the wires in, and wait for it to dry. Then you can put it right into the cake and they won't move around.

I just pushed mine in until it was level with the top of the cake and added a dab of frosting to cover.
