Next week at work we are having a party for the director of the hospital laboratory. Everyone is bringing treats, and I could really use some brownie points, so I want to make her a cake that will be different from anything else that will be there that day. She loves black labs. I was thinking of an 8" round and a RKT dog on top wearing a blue lab coat (that is what we wear). When covering the dog, would it be easier to cover with black modeling chocolate than black fondant? It will probably only be about 5" tall. Any tips on working with modeling chocolate would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

For such a small figure you may be better off just modeling a solid fondant/gumpaste dog.

I would suggest a modeling chocolate dog. I agree with it being too small for a RKT figure.

Try the Build a Bear store for a tiny lab coat and accessories...or maybe Barbie clothes?
