I was asked to make a cake (of my choice) for a friends bridal shower. I'm going to go with a Tiffany & Co. box, however, I can not for the life of me figure out how to get the top of the cake to look like the box top. Is it just thicker fondant for it? or is there something I'm missing.

I've made a practice bow, and I'm going to attempt coloring the fondant tonight, but I'm just not sure about the top.

Any help, suggestions, links or tips would be greatly appreciated.

looks like to me that this cake just has a band of fondant around the edge to resemble a lid.

My MIL and I said the same thing!! I found another picture of a Tiffany cake that looks like the sides were done first and then a strip of fondant was added to the top and then another piece was put over it to give the look of a box. Not sure which I'll do... Guess I'll just practice them both and see what I can come up with.

Thanks
LL
