How Do I Make My Fondant Not Crack Or Go Dry??

Hi, Was after some advice...I have recently started making cakes and the first few have been ok. My only problem is that the fondant icing seems to crack and look very dry..Is there anything i can do to stop this???

what fondant r u using? MMF? Satin Ice? are u kneading it with shortening? or P. Sugar?
