I made a cake for Mother's Day yesterday that had to travel 2 hours. It was a 3 layer cake covered in BC. I made my first fondant bow, which took a number of hours, but I was thrilled with it. I was so concerned over making that bow that I got a little sloppy with making the actual cake! It ended up being lopsided because I didn't level the layers as I normally would. I was dissapointed with myself, but just shrugged it off since it was just for my immediate family...LOL!

But when we got to our destination, the cake was miraculously straight!!! I think the weight of the bow (which was pretty heavy) had something to do with it and the cake settling during the trip.

But you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I pulled that thing out the box!!!

And I hope that you didn't tell anyone when you got there -- just took the credit for making a perfect cake!
