I don't know how others do it, but when i did mine (in my photos) i made my cake, covered in mmf, then i used styrofoam, covered in mmf as the lid, and used styro to make a wedge to place on cake so the lid would stay open. then used gum paste for the tissue paper. hope this helps =0)
