I am doing a stack of books cake for a librarian that is retiring. We are at an elementary school, so I was wanting to do thinner books and off setting several stacks.

What is the best thing to use for covering the books? I thought that I would do 3 books out of one cake, so I would have to have 3 different colors on the one cake.

Does anyone know what to use? I have seen some use foam core board? Kind of confused at how that would get cut, maybe taking individual layers off and opening the book?

Any help appreciated?
