Would anyone know how I should go about doing a camouflage buttercream cake? How can I get the colors from smudging or running into one another. My nephew wants a camo cake for his b-day party and I don't want to disappoint him. I found a cake in the gallery under camouflage cake (see attachment) but she/he has not shared the idea yet. Can someone please help. My nephew's birthday is next week Saturday.

I'm not sure about buttercream, but I have done a fondant cake like this, it looked very similar. If you want to try it in fondant, let me know and I can send you instructions and a pic of the cake I did.

Let us know how it turns out!!

This is exactly the tutorial I used for my buttercream camouflage, except I used Viva paper towels/clean computer paper and a fondant smoother instead of the foam roller. It worked really well!

Thank you all for the tips and links to making this cake. Now I don't have to persuade my nephew anymore to choose another cake. Lol. Will post the results in the gallery.
