I was in our local cake supply store recently and they had hair curlers.
I thought what in the world?
Then it hit me, they are used for making bows, at least that what I did.

Instead of putting tissues or waxed paper in your bows. Wrap the fondant or gumpaste over a plastic or sponge hair curler. Different sizes are available. I used them on my bow for my Class three finale cake and it worked like a champ. The gumpaste did not stick to the curler.

And if you use the sponge curlers you can just dust them like your shaping foam! Stroke of genius! Buying caking supplies at the hair supply store?? Hilarity!
