Buttercream On Fondant??

Can you put buttercream frosting on fondant?? I have to make a spiderweb cake and I plan to do black fondant for the base and was going to do the webbing in white fondant?? Will this work without running colors?? Any suggestions are appreciated!! THANKS!!

You should not have a problem putting frosting on fondant.

If you are using wilton food colors then it will bleed. If you are using americolor then you will not have a problem. I made a cake with white frosting frosting and very bright colors with americolor no problem. The cake sat for 24 hours and no bleeding. With Wilton I would have bleeding.

I am planning to use black fondant and white buttercream for the web. That should be okay, no running together??
