I was asked to bake a "white cake recipe with raspberry filling" for this saturday. I have a recipe for it but i have never baked one before. My question is can I bake them before saturday and freeze them? I need to have it baked and decorated for saturday and I don't want to be stressed and leave things for last minute. Please advise..Thanks.
I regularly freeze cakes with no problems. I usually bake from scratch, and I wrap each layer well in good-quality plastic film and then in heavy-duty foil. They keep very well and are as moist once thawed as they were fresh. Just be careful to not overbake and they will be fine.
