I have a customer who is wanting a 3 tier cake..and she just told me "we are taking it to the beach" which is about 90 miles. Any suggestions?? I've not had any cake accidents, but don't want this to be the first.
If you are transporting it, take the tiers separately and assemble on site.
If they are taking it, make sure it's LEVEL, LEVEL, LEVEL in whatever they are transporting it in.
If you stack your tiers using SPS and the customer sits the cake on a piece of non-skid shelf liner on a level place in the vehicle, it should travel just fine .

I agree. I've traveled over 100 miles with a three tiered cake with no problems.
Go to the forum tab at the top of the page, click on "How Do I" and about the 6th or 7th topic is an SPS "sticky". The thread had lots of faqs and lots of answers by leah_s - our resident SPS EXPERT!
Here is a link to the directions, but you probably want to read thru some of the thread anyway.

You don't sound dumb at ALL, asking is so much better than wondering. You'll be seriously glad you asked when, 10 cakes down the road you think back to when you first LEARNED about SPS !
HTH, and BTW, I love your town!
Thanks so much!! I'll check into that.
And you've come through Dothan?
You are very welcome, and yes, more times than I can count!!
