Edible Image On Black Fondant?

I'm doing a 'Hooters' shirt cake and want make the owl from EI; but not sure if I should make the background of the owl black or use no back ground at all?? The shirt will be black fondant rather than white. Sorry, I can't add the pic so you can see what I mean because I only have it in a word document. Any advice??

I think you need to put a thin layer of white fondant under the edible image to keep it bright.

Thanks Vita, that sounds like a good idea! I'm worried about not being able to see the image at all on the black.
