I have been asked to do a huge cake for my 10 year class reunion. I'm honored to have been asked. I have never done a really big stacked cake before and im not all that familiar with structure. I was watching a "cake challenge" on tv last night that I had recorded and the challenge was actually "10 year class reunion cakes" (I saw that as a sign.. Lol), and one of the competitors on there had a megaphone as the base of the cake (skinny side up), and then had a soccer ball on top of that, and then had stacked cakes on top of the soccer ball! I guess my question is... how did he get the soccer ball to sit on top of the megaphone without crushing it??? I know they use PVC pipe alot, but is there some sort of separator or something that goes in between? It looked like they were sitting right on top of each other. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Use the SPS system. It is easy, cheap, and very reliable.
