Does anyone ever ice cupcakes with whipped cream icing rather than buttercream? I was thinking of doing something different. Is there any reason not to? I was going to do a swirl with the 1M tip. I was going to place fondant decorations on top but if I have to i can place them on top immediately before serving. Will it support a fondant decoration

I only used the Wilton whipped topping once and had an awful experience. I think if it were just the icing it would have been fine. I tried to do elmo face with the eyes and nose out of fondant and they just slid off. It also melts very quickly after removing from fridge.

I have used Bettercream (just like Pastry Pride) and it works fine!
