Which ones would be good besides buttercream?

I want to make a draping fondant shell over mini cupcakes, that is premade and hopefully no breakage.

I have my heart set on 2 different ganaches, a couple of cream cheese and of course butter cream. These will compliment the cupcake flavors.

I will need to decorate after the road trip, about 8 hours, hopefully 8 hours of sleep and I'm almost positive I will need to use a hand mixer to get everything up to snuff.

Any ideas?

If this should be posted in How do I?, I apologize.

Whipped freezes well, but fondant slides on it if not done a certain way. Cream cheese frosting freezes fine, I'm not sure about ganache...I know fudge frosting is fine, maybe it's the same? Hth somewhat.

Thank you!

You didn't help somewhat, you helped huge! I really appreciate your input.

I guess I will just make a fondant collar to top the cupcakes. That idea in itself will give me better options.

Thank you again.
