I am making a cake that needs to be a metallic gold color. I am making a gold colored fondant and then covering it with americolor metallic gold paint. What would be the best way to apply the color? I was thinking that brushing it on with leave brush stoke marks, so maybe sponge paint it on?? Any other tips would be great! Thank you!

Airbrushing is usually the best way to get an even coating of color....

They make FDA approved gold spray paint. I just ordered some for gold sheriff badge cookies I'm making. Or you could use luster dust or highlighter mixed with vodka and paint it on. HTH
