I'm such a newb to caking and blogging and was wondering if anyone with a blog would be kind enough to share tips for success?

Anything would be wonderful- from how to write a post to how to get more views, etc etc.

I don't spend much time blogging, but my cousin has done well with her blog. In less than a year she now has over 200 followers. A few things she's said that have helped are:

Post fairly regularly to keep people coming back. If you never have new posts up, they'll get tired of checking your blog.

Spend some time reading other blogs and comment, comment, comment on their blogs! This will bring traffic to your site and possibly some followers.

Follow blogs you enjoy. Some will decide to follow you as well. However, don't expect them to. My cousin says that is a pet peeve of hers...if another blogger writes to her, "I'll follow your blog if you follow mine."

Join a blog network like SITS.
