I am going to use this to cover my dummy cakes. Is there a certain kind I should get, they have a few different kinds at home depot. Also can I decorate it, take pictures and then take the decorations off and reuse it or do I have to re-cover it each time?

Hi,
I've done a few fake cakes and I use the "Premium Grade Patch n Paint Lightweight Spackling" from Home Depot. It works really well and has the consistancy of a light buttercream. I would think you could scrape it off and use the dummy again if the spackling hasn't completely hardened. It's like cement when it does.

Let us know how you do!
