I'm making my son a fish/trout cake covered in Fondant. I'm wanting to make it look realistic and have the high silver finish. I'm new to cake decorating. What would be better to paint with crystal colors or luster dust?? ~Thank You~ icon_biggrin.gif

Crystal Colors by are FDA approved & completely edible .

Generic luster dusts are non-toxic, NOT FDA approved, and are technically not considered edible because they're not made from food products (but people eat them without consequences because they're non-toxic).

Given the option, I always choose to use Crystal colors when the fondant will be cut and served with the cake, especially with a child's cake.
