Does anyone have any suggestions I have a bride and groom who insist they want a buttercreamed cake for their summer wedding! Any recipes that would hold up without having to sacrifice taste, texture etc...? Or I may have to try and convince them to do the buttercream flavored fondant from fondarific!! Thanks

try indydebis one, or really, anything crisco based. still best to follow the precaustions - not in sun, inside in ac for as long as possible etc. dont be afraid to say your not happy to do it - but here is this fantastic alternative!

Indydebi's or Sugarshacks buttercream will stand up to the heat. Just don't use butter.

I did an out door Wedding in July in Texas, and used an all crisco buttercream, and it helded up. Of course I did suggest the cake be in the shade and not direct sunlight.

I agree, use an all crisco buttercream recipe. If they really want butter flavor, use an extract. That will hold up in pretty decent heat. But definitely don't use butter!
