Do people actually eat piping gel? I see lots of people use this for water but I've never actually seen a cake in person that used it. Do people eat the gel or do they scrape it off? Does it taste as funky as it looks? Pardon my igorance.

I think people usually do eat it. It doesn't have much flavor. The yellow is typically lemon flavored but the others are just slightly sugery tasting. You should try some!! My 4 year old will squeeze the whole tube in her mouth if I let her.

yup, people eat it and seem to love it.. or like playing with it.. the kids do tend to go nuts and devour it (as i have witnessed) dont know why. I add a tiny bit of flavoring to mine. not enough to change the consistency just enough to cut down on sugar flavor.
